PWHL Team Names Anticipated to be Released Monday

On Thursday, September 5th, all six PWHL teams posted the same message: something big was coming on September 9th.

Since the leagues inception, none of the teams had a name, simply playing as their host city. But fans are itching for new team identities.

The PWHL actually trademarked what sounded like potential team names last year… Boston Wicked, Montreal Echo, New York Sound, Minnesota Superior, Ottawa Alert, and Toronto Torch.

While most fans are excited about new names, uniforms, and logos, some fans are disappointed that the PWHL didn’t ask for fan input before deciding the names.
